The evolving relationship between publishers and platforms

Christina Scott

As the relationship between publishers and platforms flits between competition and collaboration, News UK's CTO describes the need for sustainable revenue models for publishers.

Apple has positioned itself as the custodian of consumer privacy, whereas Facebook and Google are battling it out for the digital advertising pie. But as the giants go head to head, it is ultimately the publishers who are losing out. News UK, whilst reliant on platforms, believes that the very same platforms are reliant on its content too.

Its CTO, Christina Scott, talks to Hot Topics Contributing Editor, Ian Cohen, about the need for publishers to be rewarded with sustainable revenues for the high-quality content they provide.
