CarMax’s CMO believes the mobile app is evolving not dying

Jim Lyski, Chief Marketing Officer at CarMax, says that mobile apps are still an important marketing tool, but that they are most effective when focused on being able to perform specific tasks. He tells Hot Topics that at CarMax, there is an app for car owners, and one for prospective buyers. The two apps offer a very different set of services, but by being so clearly defined, it makes consumers’ lives easier by giving them a clear understanding of the services on offer.
