"Tim is Google’s Head of Business Development for Android across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His role is to promote industry adoption of Android, Google’s open source mobile software platform. He advocates for the mobile Web to bring about useful innovation for everyone from John O’Groats to Johannesburg to Jelty Yar. Tim read History at Leeds University before qualifying as a lawyer in 2002 at international firm Allen & Overy LLP. He worked there for 3 more years specialising in commercial intellectual property law before moving in-house to Symbian Software Limited, a London-based telecoms software company producing Symbian OS, which powers around 300M smartphones globally. In 2007 Tim moved to Internet giant Google, where his legal work included advising on the UK launch of StreetView and successfully defending Google in the High Court, as well as closing numerous commercial deals. He took his current business development role within Google’s Android engineering team in 2009."
